Description
Catch the Light for Intelligent Design: A Role-play Reading Story for Multiple Readers for Understanding Creation and Intelligent Design
In Catch the Light, evidence for intelligent design is shared through interesting characters and witty dialogue. In this entertaining fictional story, complete with a delightful whispering narrator, a young atheist becomes engaged in a conversation about the origin of the universe with a variety of people as they come and go in a coffee shop. As many of the common arguments for and against Intelligent Design are discussed, the atheist is both figuratively and literally enlightened as he learns about the vast amount of evidence there is for the existence of a divine creator. With each new bit of information, he catches a glimpse of light.
Written by Dianna Cleveland in collaboration with Dr. Frank Turek, author of I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist, this story is published by Roleplay Reader, Inc. in the patented Playbook® format.
Choose your story character(s) matching reader’s age, reading skill, or desire for a smaller or larger role. If you have fewer readers than roles, one or more readers can simply take more than one role. If you have more readers than roles, then readers can share roles. Read with expression, meaning, and personality! This is what makes roleplay reading so much fun!
Bring your story and characters to life with creativity, and remember to have a great time!
WHAT IS READER'S THEATER?
Reader's theater is a method of reading a story aloud, like a play, without memorization, props, or a stage. Readers are each assigned a character role and read their parts with expression, meaning and enthusiasm.
Dramatic oral reading in a role-play reading format has proven to enrich reading and learning in a fun and engaging way.
WHAT IS A PLAYBOOK?
Playbooks® Reader's Theater stories are unique because each character's dialogue is presented in a different color throughout the story and more importantly, the roles are written at different reading levels. Thousands of schools and programs nationwide have purchased Playbooks® and used them year after year, positively affecting the reading skills of millions of students.
SOCIAL INTERACTIVE READING
Social interactive reading and reading with expression are the key ingredients for successful reading enrichment in any program. Reader's theater combines these two ingredients and is easy to implement. With the current importance on social activities, Playbooks® provide a legitimate reason for reading aloud with each other to learn important information in an entertaining way.
A note from the author:
I was inspired to write this Catch the Light role-play reading story after hearing Frank Turek speak at my church during an apologetics series. I then read, I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheistwritten by Frank Turek and Norman L. Geisler and became so engaged I couldn’t put it down. I also connected with their concerns about Christian youth dropping their faith after high school because intellectually these students don’t know why Christianity is true. Being an author and publisher of over 100 role-play reading books for youth, and a mother of three strong Christians, I knew I must create a role-play reading story that could present the tremendous evidence I learned from these exceptional Christian apologists, in an entertaining way, and not just for youth, but for all ages. I pray that has been achieved and that God will bless this work.
