Description

The Footsteps of Jesus

In Israel with Dr. Frank Turek

Join Frank as he leads you to the most dramatic places in the life of Jesus.  From His birth to His Resurrection, you'll see and hear insights from the life of Jesus from:

Bethlehem: His birthplace on which is built the Church of the Nativity

Capernaum: His adopted hometown on the Sea of Galilee that includes the Synagogue and House of Peter in which He healed people (Mark 1-2)

Pool of Bethesda:  The pool in Jerusalem where He healed a paralyzed man (John 5)

Mount of Olives:  The hill east of Jerusalem where gave several teachings including the Olivet Discourse (Matt. 24); where He started his triumphal entry (Luke 19); where He will return (Zech. 14:4).

Garden of Gethsemane: The garden just east of Jerusalem at the foot of the Mount of Olives where He prayed and was arrested (Matt. 26).

Temple Mount: The site of Herod's Temple where Jesus taught;  also the site of the near sacrifice of Isaac, not far from the actual sacrifice of Christ.

Garden Tomb:  One of two likely sites of His burial and Resurrection (the other is where the Church of the Holy Sepulcher now stands).   At the Garden tomb, Frank describes the physical nature of how Christ suffered for our sins.

    biblical archaeology

Posted by evan on 18th Jan 2020

This was a nice addition to my previous study in Biblical archaeology. There's not a lot of videography around the sites, yet enough to see where you get the idea that history happened there. I would recommend this DVD especially for the last segment. Dr. Turek and his tour group have a very moving communion as it was describing the suffering of Jesus at the cross.
